This novel writing software by Mariner Software has a user-friendly design that helps writers organize their thoughts, from the first draft to a published novel

Making the decision to sit down and write a complete novel is a big one, and requires a lot of time and dedication. Aspiring novelists are often overwhelmed by the amount of planning and preparation, research, plotting, and character development it takes just to get through a first draft.

Unfortunately, programs like Microsoft Word and TextEdit are often not conducive to this kind of project. StoryMill 3.2 is a program designed with novelists in mind, and contains intuitive features that take the hassle out of actually typing and lets writers focus on writing.

Features of StoryMill 3.2 Novel Writing Software

StoryMill allows writers to organize and tag characters, scenes and chapters, research, locations, and more in an easy-to-access manner. Users can cut and paste information from other sources, online or offline, straight into StoryMill, from rich text to pictures and graphics.

The timeline feature makes it easy for writers to see multiple story arcs and how they flow chronologically throughout the story. With a simple click, the user can highlight a word or sentence to add an annotation for later, including text and pictures.

StoryMill features several tools that make revision easy and painless, such as the word frequency tracker, progress meter, and cliché finder. The full screen mode utilizes a blue screen with white words, for distraction free writing that is easy on the eyes as well. And Smart Views allows writers to organize their books in a way that makes sense to them, much like setting up smart folders in Finder.

StoryMill is even helpful after the novel is complete, with a submissions tracker that allows writers to keep track of agents and editors and their responses, including phone numbers, addresses, and links to websites and email addresses.

All of these features and more are incredibly flexible. Writers can choose only to use which tools help them the most. Just having all the information, research, summaries, and notes necessary for a novel in one document makes StoryMill far better for novelists than a regular word program.
