I'm so exicted, I just had to share my news! I've had a short-story accepted for publication in the March Issue of The Chick-Lit Review!

First, let me qualify that my story is not-you-typical chick-lit.. Though it does involve an independant, capable PR rep who'srelationship is in the toilet, it also features a gallery showing and an odd assortment of artwork that cohesivly tells a story.

I'm excited about this story publication, because it is a story that I re-worked several times, and that workshopped on Zoetrope.com after each draft. The story started out with a dramatic break up scene and was written in third person. The final version is written in first person, and doesn't even start until the main charecter Sari shows up to the gallery show.

The two versions couldn't be more different, so it goes to show that if a story just doesn't feel right, then you must continue to plug away at it until you really think that it is done.

Workshopping it doesn't hurt either, though you must be careful to workshop it in a contained area. Zoetrope works for me becasue it is a password-protected members site, so it doesn't qualify as being "published".

Which is why I am able to sell the first rights, and for an actual decent payment, not like a lot of the web-based venues nowadays. I'll be sure to give you all the link when it's publised!

Now, back to writing!
