» nanhawthorne - "Historical novellists do it in the past!"

Well met, scribblers all!

I'm sorry, I have to start posts that way.. I'm a historical novelist... and I am thinking of marketing a line of t-shirts with the line in the subject.

I just joined Suite yesterday but have been writing for a living, such as it is, for going on 18 years. I have mostly done hack writing on a variety of topics, but just recently have come back to my first love, historical fiction.

It has been an interesting experience over the past year or so. Trying to get authentic information so your story is accurate historically but still a ripping yarn is no picnic.

I will be happy to share some of this and what I am writing.. I do a Saxon era blog that is linked in my profile here and am laboriously finishing the first extremely rough draft of what I am calling a "tribute novel".. planning to self publish this one, then go on to a series of ghost mysteries for which I will seek a commercial publisher.

Look forard to meeting y'all.
