I received a grant for my fiction several years ago, and am waiting to hear on another one (see my blog on 6/19/07, "Arts Commission Grants).

Have you ever applied for a grant for your fiction? Did you receive it? Was it from a writer's group/conference, a public source (Arts Commissions, etc.) or a publisher? Do you have any wisdom you'd like to share with other writers?

No. But I'd like to. The ad links only lead to places to buy books of information that may or may not be reliable.

Hi, and thanks for asking. I'm working on tracking down both grant opportunities and contests that don't cost much (or that give you great return for your $$). So keep your eyes peeled in the article/blog section.

I've started a series of articles on grants for writers. I'm beginning in the US, with some midwest states--see the article "Midwest State Art Grants" posted 8/24/07. That article will have links to others as I do them.
